University of California, Davis (also referred to as UCD, UC Davis, or Davis), is a public research university and one of the 10 campuses of the University of California (UC) system. It is located in Davis, California, United States, just west of Sacramento. The university has expanded over the past century to include graduate and professional programs in medicine (which includes the UC Davis Medical Center), law, veterinary medicine, education, nursing, and business management. UC Davis is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[1] The university enrolled more than 35,000 students, and it ranked 44 among national universities and 10 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]
