AIM is an international trade association that advances the field of automatic identification and mobility technology solutions, developers, and users. Aside from promoting technologies, the trade association also supports and develops standards affecting bar code, radio frequency identification (RFID), and enterprise mobile computing technology.[1]

The "AIM" acronym initially stood for "automatic identification manufacturers," but it was changed to "automatic identification and mobility."[2]
