History

In 2015, healthcare company Abbott acquired Omnilab Srl. By November 1, 2017, Omnilab officially became Abbott Srl, doing business as Abbott Italy.[1] Omnilab's LabOnline middleware was renamed AlinIQ AMS.

AlinIQ AMS is an analyzer management system (middleware) "that can connect virtually any analyzer or automation system to the [laboratory information system] to better manage the flow of data throughout the entire workflow process."[2] Features of the software include test management, sample management, quality management, equipment management, and reporting tools.

Test management: Capable of manual test result review, test result autoverification, hematology workflow management, and order entry and reporting

Sample management: Provides sample workflow management, turnaround time monitoring, sample storage and retrieval, and sample tracking

Quality management: Allows for quality control management, equipment maintenance, moving averages, QC software integration, and quality assurance tracking

Equipment management: Provides a real-time lab viewer and automation management tools
