LIMSwiki is a collaborative wiki dedicated to the scientific community, featuring organized, documented, and up-to-date content regarding all aspects of laboratory informatics, bioinformatics, and health informatics. LIMSwiki also strives to maintain relevant knowledge about laboratory equipment as well as commercial and open-source software likely to be used in a laboratory setting. This also includes the vendors of such equipment and software.

Like any community wiki, the value and success of LIMSwiki is dependent upon the scientific community contributing their vast knowledge through the creation of relevant articles and editing of existing articles where knowledge is absent. If you wish to enrich the content of this wiki or have something of value to add, please request an account and get started.

"Data to diagnosis in global health: A 3P approach"

With connected medical devices fast becoming ubiquitous in healthcare monitoring, there is a deluge of data coming from multiple body-attached sensors. Transforming this flood of data into effective and efficient diagnosis is a major challenge. To address this challenge, we present a "3P" approach: personalized patient monitoring, precision diagnostics, and preventive criticality alerts. In a collaborative work with doctors, we present the design, development, and testing of a healthcare data analytics and communication framework that we call RASPRO (Rapid Active Summarization for effective PROgnosis). The heart of RASPRO is "physician assist filters" (PAF) that 1. transform unwieldy multi-sensor time series data into summarized patient/disease-specific trends in steps of progressive precision as demanded by the doctor for a patient’s personalized condition, and 2. help in identifying and subsequently predictively alerting the onset of critical conditions. February 11, 2019:

We're happy to team up with the Association of Public Health Laboratories to highlight the existence of their new guide Laboratory Information Systems Project Management: A Guidebook for International Implementations. Released in November 2018, the guide collects comprehensive information from informaticians and laboratorians in regards to the implementation and project management of laboratory information systems (LIS) in the public health setting. With in-depth discussion and professional recommendations from contributors in multiple countries, this guide was created to provide valuable information for laboratory informatics newcomers and experienced laboratorians alike. Learn more about the guide here on the wiki.

December 6, 2018:

This is just a quick update to advise readers the second edition of the guide Past, Present, and Future of Cannabis Laboratory Testing and Regulation in the United States has now been released. This second edition updates historical information with the latest stories through early December 2018, newest technologies, and revised URLs for vendors. A new chapter has been added that details vendors who are marketing their instruments, software, and equipment to cannabis testing laboratories, and new material has been added in addressing topics such as industrial hemp legalization and worker safety. Enjoy.
