Technology and products

LabOnline and Tubo

LabOnline is a middleware platform designed to "manage and improve the capabilities of existing automation systems (pre-analytics, analytics and post-analytics) in any section of the laboratory."[1] The software is designed to work between one or more laboratory information systems (LIS) and analytical instruments, providing additional functionality and workflow management not available in either the LIS or the instrument. Key features for LabOnline include unlimited instrument and software system connections, multi-lab support, web-based results browsing and validation, a flexible rules engine, and support for multiple file formats.[1] (Consult the website for all features.)

Tubo is a hardware and software package designed as a workspace "to organize and retrieve tubes through automatic position detection."[1] Users can place a rack of tubes of any size on the workspace, and the system is designed to scan, recognize, and place the tubes into the workflow. The system includes a relational database for archiving data from the machine.[1]
