History

Acquisition of Waban Software

On April 22, 2009, Phase Forward announced that it had acquired Waban Software, Inc., including products Waban SMS and Waban LIMS.[1] The Waban products were apparently merged into a Phase Forward offering called Clinical Development Center.[2]

Acquisition by Oracle

Oracle Corporation announced on April 16, 2010 that it had an agreement to acquire and integrate Phase Forward into its structure.[3] The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), however, questioned the acquisition, extending an antitrust review on May 28.[4] The DoJ finally cleared the acquisition on August 6[5], and the acquisition was finalized on August 11, 2010.[6]

Phase Forward's LabPas software survived as Oracle Health Sciences LabPas.[7] Clinical Development Center survived as Oracle Health Sciences Clinical Development Center.[8]
