University of Florida (commonly referred to as Florida or UF) is a public research in Gainesville, Florida, United States and is a senior member of the State University System of Florida. The University of Florida is home to sixteen academic colleges and more than 150 research centers and institutes. UF is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university enrolled more than 52,000 students, and it ranked 50 among national universities and 14 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.
