University of Helsinki (Finnish: Helsingin yliopisto; Swedish: Helsingfors universitet; Latin: Universitas Helsingiensis; abbreviated UH) is a public research university located in Helsinki, Finland. It is the oldest and largest university in Finland with the widest range of disciplines available. Around 34,800 students (2014) were currently enrolled in the degree programs of the university spread across 11 faculties and 11 research institutes.[1] The university ranked 91 among all universities and 28 among universities in Europe according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]

M.S. in Bioinformatics
No more admissions are allowed to the base bioinformatics master's program. In its place are four master's subprograms or specialties that students can apply for: Algorithmic Bioinformatics, Biometry and Bioinformatics, Biomathematics, and Life Science Technologies.
