University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) is a public research university located in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The university is organized into 14 colleges and schools offering more than 50 academic majors/programs in more than 125 academic areas.[1] UMKC is classified as a research university with high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 16,800 students, and it ranked 210 among national universities and 118 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
