University of Washington, commonly referred to as simply Washington, UW, or informally U-Dub, is a public research university based in Seattle, Washington, United States. The university also has campuses in Tacoma and Bothell. The university is organized into 16 colleges and schools offering hundreds of undergraduate and graduate programs. U-Dub is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[1] The university enrolled more than 45,000 students, and it ranked 54 among all national universities and 16 among "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]
