Yale University (or just Yale) is a private Ivy League research university located in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. The university is organized into 14 colleges and schools offering 80 undergraduate programs and hundreds of graduate programs.[1] Yale is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 12,300 students, and it ranked third among all national universities and third among "Best Value Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
