ClinCapture is an Open-source Electronic Data Capture (EDC) System designed for data capture, query management and reporting for clinical trials for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies created by Clinovo.
Clinovo is a company providing eClinical trial technology, Biometric Services, Staffing Solutions and trainings to the clinical trial industry. Founded in 2003 by CEO Ale Gicqueau and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California the company has a staff of over 60 and is employee owned. [1]
Clinovo develops and markets open-source technologies in the clinical trial industry. It has been argued that, aside from being more cost-efficient and flexible, the collaborative nature of open source technology allows for faster innovation.[2]

It's not clear how to access the source code for ClinCapture. Additionally, it's not clear what version of the software is the latest release, and the version history doesn't seem to be public either. Download links for the software don't seem to exist on the site either. The specifics of the open-source model Clinovo is using is not clear, and it appears ClinCapture is not a free open-source product.
