I believe that the majority of this page discusses what are generally referred to as R&D or "blank page" ELNs. The general paragraph that opens the page refers to mainly the R&D style of ELN. I'm not sure whether we should have separate pages or the opening paragraph describe the two different types so that people can make a decision about which type they want to read about.
