Recent changes to Vendor:Bio-ITech BV

Hello! I noticed you recently added information to the feature table of this record, citing the following page for features like sample login and management, version control, etc.: http://www.bio-itech.nl/elabjournal/

However, this page in no way mentions the features you added. Please note the warning box above the feature table:

A lack of a "Y" does not necessarily mean that the product doesn't have that feature. The lack of a "Y" could mean:
* the vendor chose to not put relevant feature information online despite its existence in the product.
* the vendor chooses to make the feature information available only to those who create an account or call/e-mail.
* the feature information exists online to the public, but a URL could not be found to cite the existence of the feature.
* the feature does not exist for the product.
A vendor's product may receive more confirmed features with the addition of more public information to the vendor's site and/or by providing a URL to a page or document that can act as a citation for the existence of the feature.

Per our citation guidelines, we can't allow uncited material. Now, if you have a web page or brochure that clearly states the functionality you want to include in the feature table, use that as your citation. Otherwise your options are to include more information on your website or leave uncited material off the vendor record. Let me know if you have any questions or need help. Thank you for your time to review my changes. Indeed our productpages didn't reflect the total features that are available. We have corrected these pages which makes them also proper citation sources.

Hello! I still don't see all the information on the page you're citing: http://www.bio-itech.nl/elabjournal/
That page doesn't reference any of the following, which you added:
sample_login_man
sample_track
sample_batch
task_event_sched
manual_entry
multiple_view
custom_fields
eln_support
export_msexcel
deadline_control
production_control
workflow_man
Again, I have to remove the citations from the above features as I don't see them listed on that page. Thanks. Shawn Douglas 12:03, 24 September 2013 (EDT)
The product eLabjournal contains eLabInventory. Therefore any features which are part of eLabInventory are also part of eLabJournal. The page which has been cited refers to eLabjournal, which in turn lists the inclusion of 'Inventory Management Module' and links to http://www.bio-itech.nl/elabinventory/. This page does report these features. As I understand you prefer to link to this page instead, is that correct and can I proceed with that reference for these features?
Ah, I understand. Yes, please use the eLabInventory page as your reference for those additional features. Sorry for being specific, but we do prefer to maintain quality content on the wiki. Happy editing! Shawn Douglas 17:42, 24 September 2013 (EDT)

Latest changes to Vendor:Bio-ITech BV

Many of the changes recently made again do not align with wiki standards. The history was not a history but a marketing description of the company. Only citeable history (date company was founded, date products were released, date awards were won, etc.) that can be backed up with a valid public citation (a press release, a web article, etc.) goes there.

Additionally, I stress again the same thing I stressed in 2013: you can't add features to the feature table without having a valid citation to back it up. I checked the new webpages that were used to cite features, and half of the features that were added are again not listed on the webpage. If the webpage doesn't show the feature, we can't add it. This rule hasn't changed. I do understand the Inventory software is part of the Journal software (though the webpage doesn't seem to make that clear). However, our general rule is if we can't cite it, we can't add it. Also, the message box above the feature tables is mandatory.

I removed the marketing from the history section, redid the feature tables, readded the message box above it, added citations to the feature descriptions, and made a few other cleanups. In the future, consider adding more features on your product feature pages if you want them listed in the feature table. Shawn Douglas (talk) 12:59, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Also, only sponsors are allowed to have their image in the ELN vendor page. I removed the image there. Not my rule. Shawn Douglas (talk) 13:14, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
