Laboratory System Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

Just an FYI, I QAed your recent changes. You added several features to the feature table using a citation from this page. However those features are not listed on that cited page. In particular, I removed manual entry, data sharing, data mining, and export to Excel. None of those features are listed on the cited page. As stated in the acceptance message for your account: "You can ONLY add a cited 'Y' to the product feature table if you can back it up with a web citation." If your software has that functionality, consider updating your website to mention it, and then use that webpage as a citation. Thanks! Shawn Douglas (talk) 18:20, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Shaun,
Looking at your features list, I checked our web-site disalab.com again to make sure that the features I had originally added complied with lims-wiki definitions. I also made some minor changes to our web-site to clarify them if there was some confusion. I'm not going to edit our features list again until I have further agreement that we comply on the following:
manual entry - It is implied on our web-site that our base LIMS module is all manual entry, because our "Instruments interface" is an optional module. Our Modules Page states: "Laboratory (LIMS) - This is the basic module ... The LIMS includes role-based access to facilities for test requisitions either singly or in batch , workflow and workload management, worksheets, and result entry and review either singly, in batch or from worksheets ... Instrument-Interface - This optional module allows you to interface your analysers and other lab automation equipment/robotics to the LIMS."
external file or data linking (I originally had this as "data sharing)". Our modules Page says: "HL7 interface - This optional module allows your LIMS to interface to Electronic Health Records, hospitals, and other healthcare systems. With the HL7 interface you can get patient demographics and test orders electronically, and send back test results."
export to Excel - Our Modules page originally stated. " Management reports and data extractions are available in spreadsheet format." - I've now changed it to say ".. spreadsheet (XLSX) format for Excel and OpenOffice." to make it clear.
I've re-added manual entry and export to Excel. As for the HL7 interface, that's covered under "Third-party software integration" in Base functionality, but yes, it's also part of external file or data linking, and I've added that as well. As for the data sharing of the client interface, that's covered under "External monitoring." To be honest, this feature list is outdated, and six months ago we started looking at another way to present system features. We have a plan in the works to update all vendors with a new features tool based on system requirement specs, but we're still a long way from getting to that project. It seems like I keep getting more work thrown at me, and many projects get back-burnered. Eventually this feature table will be replaced with something arguably better. But it will have to do for now.
