Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is a private non-profit research university in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. The university focuses on the instruction and research of technical arts and applied sciences across its more than 50 degree programs. WPI is classified as a research university with high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[1] The university enrolled 6,573 students, and it ranked 60 among all national universities and 42 among "Best Value Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]
