ID Business Solutions Ltd. (doing business as IDBS) develops and distributes laboratory informatics software solutions.

History

The company was formally founded in August 1989.[1]

In June 2009, IDBS acquired InforSense, maker of enterprise business intelligence and reporting software.[2]

In April 2016, IDBS announced at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo it would be deploying its solutions to the cloud, making them available via the software as a service (SaaS) distribution model.[3]

Sometime in 2022, the company appears to have discontinued E-WorkBook for Biology (formerly BioBook until 2015[4]), or they potentially merged it with E-WorkBook, as the URL for E-WorkBook for Biology redirects there.

Awards and honors

IDBS received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the categories of International Trade and Innovation in 2003.[5]It also received the same International Trade award in 2011.[6]

The company was also awarded the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Enabling Technology of the Year award for best R&D knowledge management solution.[7]

Prior offerings

E-WorkBook for Biology (formerly BioBook until 2015[4]), was an ELN used to better manage data in bioanalysis, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD), drug safety, and toxicology research.[8]

E-WorkBook

E-WorkBook is an ELN that "can meet the demands of your industry and those of various business units in your organization today, and can rapidly adapt and scale to meet whatever requirements you may have tomorrow."[9]

E-WorkBook for Chemistry (formerly ChemBook until 2015[10]) is an ELN "that supports the comprehensive workflows of organic chemistry synthesis and provides industry-leading ChemAxon technology for molecular representation and reaction indexing."[11]

A SaaS-based version of E-WorkBook products was announced in April 2016.[3]
