Nuxeo or Nuxeo Platform is an open-source enterprise content management platform for building and deploying content-centric business applications. The software comes in a free open-source community edition as well as fee-based commercial SaaS Cloud edition.

Product history

Nuxeo Platform began as an open-source Python- and Zope-based enterprise content management system called "Collaborative Portal Server" or CPS, started in 2003.[2] By September 2006, however, Nuxeo SAS announced a significant departure from the Python and Zope structure, with a planned move to open-source Java technologies. This required a complete rewrite of the code, and with it a new name was assigned to the project: Nuxeo.[2] The first stable release of Nuxeo arrived on February 5, 2007 as version 5.0.0.[1]

In late 2008 Nuxeo SAS acquired two million euros of Series A funding to go towards "continued product development and growth into international markets."[3] A few months later Nuxeo revealed it had purchased office space in Boston, Massachusetts, and a new business entity would be created called Nuxeo Corporation.[4] In January 2012, the company moved its U.S. headquarters to New York City to reinforce its operations further.[5]
