This template is intended to allow simple standardized links to digital object identifiers (DOIs). It is now redundant in most cases, because LIMSwiki will automatically parse [[doi:10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001]] as the link doi:10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001.

If you do wish to use this template, the basic usage is:

{{doi|10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001}}

which produces:

doi:10.1016/j.coi.2004.08.001

The template supports all symbols found in DOIs, including [];<>.
