Wipro Limited develops and distributes health informatics software solutions.

History

The company was founded in 1945 as a vegetable products business, before shifting focus to mechanical and software systems in the late 1970s. In 2003, the company created a new division called Wipro HealthScience to focus on the software side of health care management.[1]

Wipro HIS

Wipro HIS is a modular hospital information system (HIS) that also contains a laboratory information system (LIS) module, among others. The HIS is designed as "a comprehensive solution that automates the clinical, electronic medical records (EMR), administrative and inventory functions, thereby leading to improved operational effectiveness, cost reductions, [and] improving quality of patient care."[2]
