SLCLAB Informática SL develops and distributes laboratory informatics software.

History

SLCLAB informally began as "Salamanca Laboratorio Clínico SA" in the early 2000s.[1] After working in the informatics department of the laboratory for several years, several members of the IT staff branched off separately in 2007 and formed a new entity SLCLAB Informática to further develop software analysis tools for laboratories.[2][3][4]

A few years later Salamanca Laboratorio Clínico merged with another company[5], formally dissolving in September 2009.[6] As of 2022 SLCLAB still develops and distributes its laboratory informatics products.

In September 2016, the company began offering its cloud-based Zendo LIMS.[7] It appears to be a cloud-based version of its existing ALFA21 solutions.

ALFA21, Zendo LIMS, and other products

ALFA21 is a laboratory information system (LIS) for clinical analysis laboratories "designed with the aim of being easy to use and to logically follow the analysis process, from the receipt of the request to the issuing of the report."[8] SLCLAB also offers specialized versions of its ALFA21 product: ALFA21 APT for anatomical pathology, ALFA21 FQM for food & beverage and environment, and ALFA21 VET for veterinary labs. It also offers add-ons to ALFA21 like a customer results portal, electronic test requesting, SMS messaging support, and software data exchange services.[9]

Zendo LIMS is a cloud-based laboratory information management system (LIMS) for multiple industries, designed with "ease of use and the logical follow-up of the analytical process, from the sample reception request to the issuance" of the report in mind.[10] Like its on-premises predecessor ALFA21, the software comes in versions for not only clinical analysis laboratories but also anatomical pathology, chemical and environmental, and veterinary labs.[10]
